Panoptic Sphere

Black and white video projected as part of Paralla X exhibition at the Experimental Art Foundation, Adelaide.

Something approaches me, figures move at the edge of my sight, disfiguring the order that simultaneously hypnotises and unsettles me, I look, I am pushed to the limit of my sensation, I try to distance myself, to fall back into myself, to get a fix, a vantage point, somewhere still, something that will anchor me. A monstrous curve unsettles and disturbs me, is that a body, my body, that moves, that feels, that is nauseated, unbalanced, unfixed, released? I circle and never land, my senses swim, the movement of a hip, the curve of a stomach, the spinning dizzying plane of the camera is too close too fast too regular. A body, her body, my body, overwhelms me. I am a spectator to my own disorientation. I am disoriented by my own spectatorship.
