Egg Faced Girl
Egg Faced Girl was set up according to a map of the city of Melbourne’s public toilets and operated on a stringent time frame. I wore clothes that were typical of the 1950s Australian house wife and took a trolley with me that was filled with toilet cleaning implements such as a Hoover vacuum cleaner, sponges, gloves, and mop. I took a photograph of my face before the performance. I then set out to clean the city’s toilets as dictated by my map for five hours. This was video documented. At the end of cleaning the toilets I took an after shot of the effect that the tasks have on my face.
